Ceremony

A film directed by Australian surf director, Kai Neville featuring professional free surfer, Craig Anderson.  

Featuring layered violin of Australian Chamber Orchestra’s artistic director, Richard Tognetti. Recorded late one evening in his wonderful beachside (apt!) studio.  Brendan also recorded Cameron Deyell, super-guitarist, composer and producer.  A long time friend and collaborator, it was all recorded remotely with the wonders of technology and then just leaving it with Cam for a couple of days. Accompanying the guitar and violin, Brendan played various keyboards, hit and sampled various sounds around the studio, and tinkered around with computers and sequencers. And the score certainly benefitted by being lovingly mixed by Richard Belkner at Free Energy Device Studios.Declan Diacono at Klang Studios worked with Brendan on the sound design and final mix.

Quite a production for an experimental film such as this, but one that Brendan had extremely clear auditory ideas for the moment he saw the first edit that he really wanted to try.  It was worth wrangling together the music and sound crew for this little project.
